Hear the Watchmen
“Weathering the Coming Storm”
A Comprehensive Review of the Hear the Watchmen Conference
18-20 March, 2016
The Hear the Watchmen Conference took place at the Hilton DFW Lakes Conference Center, a beautiful, 40-acre retreat located in Grapevine, Texas, a short drive from the DFW airport. I had the distinct pleasure of attending the conference, which included speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds that spoke on an even wider variety of topics. I chose to title this article “Weathering the Coming Storm” because despite the fact that there was such a wide variety of topics discussed, the overarching theme of the conference was preparation for the events that are playing out now and will play out in the future regarding faith and government overreach.
Over the course of the conference I had the opportunity to meet and talk to most of the speakers of the event, most notably Doug Hagmann, Pastor “Flip” Benham, Gregg Jackson, and my good friends, Jon Robberson and Mike Kerr (who organized the conference together with his wife, Jeanie). As you might imagine, spending any time with any of the speakers was quite difficult to do, as there was well over 1000 attendees and to the credit of these fine men and women, they were determined to spend as much time as possible with each and every person. In addition, I spent some time Saturday night with Jon Robberson and the crew of Caravan to Midnight, which was very enjoyable and memorable. If you have never attended such a conference, I would also point out that it is an excellent opportunity to meet other people from around the country, and even the world, that are of a like mind. In fact, I would say that was one of the best parts of this event, meeting the other attendees and sharing our faith and stories. It was particularly great that the conference organizers had made tags for each person with their name and the city they were from, to make it easier for attendees to get to know people from their area and develop friendships to endure beyond the conference itself.
Before getting into the meat of the conference, I would also like to point out that each of the sponsors, as well as each of the speakers, had booths set up where you could not only purchase items, but get more information and meet each of them. American Survival Wholesale had a huge display set up in the center of the conference room that was particularly memorable, and even the police that were there for security purposes (and the Grapevine Police Department deserves a huge amount of gratitude for the great job that they did; they were friendly and professional) couldn’t help but check out the items that Chance (owner of American Survival Wholesale) had on display and for purchase. Doug Hagmann timed the release of his new book, “Stained by Blood”, with the conference itself, and it was available for purchase at the conference.
Day One (18 March)
The conference kicked off at 12:00 with a very special salute to all of the veterans in attendance and worship music by Joe Charles. The MCs for the first day of the conference were Doug and Joe Hagmann, who did an exceptional job despite all of the attacks that were coming against them, personally (for more information on that, see the 21 March broadcast of the Hagmann and Hagmann Report).
The first speaker was Paul McGuire, speaking on his new book, “Prophecy for the Future of America 2016-2017”, although Paul didn’t keep it strictly to that book, bringing in information from his previous books and speaking extensively on the spirit of deception that has come over this nation through the media coverage of events (specifically of the coverage of political events) and attacks on the family. His session really set the tone for the rest of the conference, outlining the events that are happening now and the need to prepare spiritually for what is coming.
The second speaker of the day was Gregg Jackson, author of the best-selling book “40 Things to Teach Your Children Before You Die”. His session was titled “Stand Strong: It’s Never Too Late”, and he shared his own testimony of moving from a secular conservative writer working in the medical device industry to a Christian. If you have never heard Gregg speak, he is a very dedicated family man and most of his works are centered on the family. His books are an invaluable tool for parents in this day and age to ensure your children are brought up with the proper foundation.
The final speaker of the night was Russ Dizdar. If you’ve never had the pleasure of hearing Russ speak live, you absolutely must find an event he will be speaking at. One of the other attendees said it best before he went on, commenting that he couldn’t wait for Russ to take the stage because it was going to be “fire”, and it indeed was. Russ’ session was titled “In the Dead of Night: Revelations of the Fallen Cherub and the Total Triumph of the Kingdom of God”. Russ speaks with a cadence that leaves the listener enthralled and throughout his session he spoke of the work he has done in fighting against practitioners of dark magic and exorcisms. I sincerely hope that it came through across the livestream of the event what was in the room by the end of the session, as it was definitely felt within the conference hall itself. It was an amazing and life changing experience.
Day Two (19 March)
Day two began at 8:00 with John B. Wells as the MC for the day. Even if you aren’t familiar with John B. Wells, the host of Caravan to Midnight, you have likely heard his voice before, as he is often hired to voice commercials and other things. I really wish I was blessed with a voice like his, as it just captivates the listener and you hang on every word.
The first speaker for day two was Jon Robberson, and his session was titled “All Roads Lead to Babylon”. Jon is a veteran of Hollywood and his session focused on it and the film industry, as he first delved into the history of Hollywood, and then turned his attention to the corruption and techniques that Hollywood uses to affect the thinking of the viewer. He also went over the satanic influence of Hollywood over the nation, but went on to offer solutions, as well. While this was the first event Jon has spoken at, it was clear that the audience enjoyed his presentation, rewarding him with a standing ovation.
Following Jon was Pastor Billy Crone. I wasn’t very familiar with Pastor Crone, but he gave an outstanding and informative session titled “Drones, Clones, and the Artificial Intelligence Invasion”. Using video clips together with scripture, Pastor Crone showed the ongoing development of various robotic and unmanned technologies in both the public and private sectors that are driving us towards a possible future Skynet scenario. He made a compelling argument that these technologies will be used by the antichrist in order to fulfill the prophecies of the Book of Revelation.
The third speaker of the day was L.A. Marzulli. I am a huge fan of his work and was very much looking forward to his presentation titled “Days of Chaos and the Return of the King”. Bringing in video and information from his past work, together with the latest news, L.A. showed how we are currently living through a period of chaos that is ushering in the end times. L.A. is a great speaker, mixing relevant information with a bit of humor, and it was a presentation that, like Paul McGuire’s the day before, really set the tone for the entire conference.
The next session was a tag-team by Pastor “Flip” Benham and Coach Dave Daubenmire. Coach Dave was up first, and his injection of energy and enthusiasm really lifted up the audience. He really reminded me of my own former high school football coach, who was a pastor, and he focused on calling on men to step up to take charge of moving the Body of Christ forward. Pastor Benham followed him with an impassioned call to everyone to get back into the Word of the Lord and develop that personal relationship with Him, especially in this time when so many are falling away from the church and from the faith.
The final speaker was Michael Boldea, grandson of the famous Dumitru Duduman, though after hearing Michael, he deserves to be recognized in his own right. The title of his session was “Peace Through the Storm”, and this was one of the greatest and most emotional sermons I have ever witnessed. He didn’t just call on people, he pleaded with people to repent and start living their lives in accordance with the Lord. He warned that the storm wasn’t just coming, but it was already here and that the Lord had told him to tell the people to repent and get their spiritual affairs in order before the storm overwhelmed them.
Day Three (20 March)
The MC for the final day of the conference was Sheila Zilinsky. If you aren’t familiar with her, she is the host of the Weekend Vigilante, and a great woman of God. I had the chance to briefly meet her before the day’s events started and I can tell you that she is a very warm and genuine lady, something that very few people are anymore in this country. Unfortunately, I only attended the first session of the morning, as I had to prepare for my flight out that afternoon. However, that session was absolutely outstanding.
The first session of Sunday (the last session I attended) was with Pastor David Lankford, and it was titled simply “Repentance”. If you’ve never been in the presence of Pastor Lankford, I will tell you that when speaking with him you can feel the Holy Spirit in this man. This was especially a treat for me, as though this was my first time meeting Pastor Lankford, it was through his podcast and his appearances with Steve Quayle on the Hagmanns’ show that I was led back to the Lord. Pastor Lankford was joined on stage with his wife, who is also a powerful lady of the Lord, and she sang to begin the worship. Pastor Lankford gave a great sermon, and was clearly moved by the Holy Spirit. It was a powerful sermon that really brought the topics of the entire conference together and was definitely something I wish that everyone in this country could behold.
Following the sermon, Pastor Lankford and the other pastors of the conference held a baptism that was open to all of the attendees. They had a sign-up, but also invited anyone that was in attendance down to the hotel pool to be baptized. I had spoken to Pastor Lankford on Friday night and at that time they already had well over 200 people that had signed up to be baptized, and they only had the pool for about an hour. I spoke with some of the people that were baptized after, and it was an awesome experience.
Although I didn’t attend them, there was also a panel Sunday afternoon discussing “The Future of New Media” with the Hagmanns, John B. Wells, Sheila Zilinsky, and Josh Tolley. Following that, later in the evening, there was a Q&A panel with all of the speakers to give the audience a chance to ask questions about the material covered. All in all, it was an excellent event that I would highly recommend to everyone. If you can’t attend an event like this in the future, the livestreaming option still gives you the meat of the conference, though I still firmly believe that you just can’t simply replace actually being in the room and meeting all of the other attendees.
This was just the first of many movements of the Lord in our nation, indeed in our world, during this coming time of judgment. I fully believe that this was an event that was guided by the hand of God, and that those that were in attendance will move out from it, like ripples across the water, and touch the lives of those around them, stirring a great movement within the land. And this will not be the last event of its kind, as Mike Kerr announced the final day that they are already beginning work on a second Hear the Watchmen conference coming up in September in Knoxville, Tennessee. He even hinted that a certain person from Bozeman, Montana had agreed to be a speaker at this one.
I would encourage all of you that read this article to purchase the DVD set of this wonderful conference. Attending it was a truly life-changing event, and the set also includes exclusive interviews with the speakers of the conference. Look to make the next conference in September, or at least buy the livestream. Buy the DVD set of this conference, and I know that you will not regret it. A time of troubles is coming upon our world. Now is not the time to hide your head in the sand, or to pass your time idly by on the pursuits of the physical world. Now is the time to get into the Word of the Lord, to cultivate that personal relationship with Him and get your prayer life straight. And of equal importance, now is the time to become active, to get into the trenches with the Lord, to realize the authority that our Lord and Savior bestowed upon each of us over the evils of this world, and go out into the world doing great acts.
I would just like to add a special word of thanks to all of the great speakers of the conference, to Mike and Jeanie for organizing the event, all of the great volunteers that stepped up to make it a success, the sponsors and everyone that I met and spoke to at the conference. May the Lord bless each and every one of you and all of your families.
