The Summer of Our Discontent

An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.

Proverbs 17:11

This past week has borne witness to what I fear is the beginning of a (not-so) civil war within this country. We have seen open attacks against law enforcement and incitement on the part of organizations that are funded by the very same elements that fueled the Arab Spring and the Color Revolutions in other parts of the world. Many of these organizations have their hands not only in the pockets of those that fuel unrest around the globe, but have the backing of the American media that are also under the control of these elements. What is playing out across the nation on our television screens and the streets of our cities is the result of carefully crafted, emotionally-based response on the parts of those same instruments of entities that have played this game out across not only various stages but also down through the millennia.

If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God: But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.

1 Samuel 12:14-15

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Luke 6:46

As is written there in the first Book of Samuel, the reason that this spirit of rebellion has come to our nation is not because of an evil system placed upon us. As I stated last night on Brothers on the Wall, all of us, of every ethnicity, have grievances which need to be addressed. But we cannot do it as separate groups and through infighting with one another – the resolution of the problems at issue here can only be achieved when we all come together as one voice. It is not a black problem, not a white problem, but a problem with all of us. And the one uniting force in this instance could, and indeed should be (as it was with the Black Robed Regiments of the Revolutionary War), our faith.

It is because we have lost our faith that we have not demanded leadership that has TRUE faith. Yes, there are many that claim faith and pay lip service to the faith, but it is many of these same Christians-in-name-only that are working behind the scenes, and indeed in more recent times, up front in our face, against the faith. As Coach Dave Daubenmire pointed out on the Friday Hagmann and Hagmann show, there was never the intention of separation of faith and the state (for it is that faith that keeps the state honest) but rather a protection against the machinations of those that would oppress worship in the thoughts of those that wrote our Constitution. These men knew full well the result of falling away from faith on the part of the rulers of a land. This is why there was this protection, and why, also, there was never the intention of anyone ruling over these United States, but for those that were in office to SERVE the people. We cannot expect for a government of the people and by the people to not be corrupted when we as the people, ourselves, have lost our way and become corrupted.

But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

Ezekiel 20:8

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Isaiah 1:19-20

Because we have not been obedient to the Lord, He has brought the spirits of corruption and rebellion to feast upon the dying carcass that is our nation. As Pastor Mike Spaulding stated last night on Brothers on the Wall, I also feel that rather than massive revival throughout the entirety of this country, we will face revolution. Such are the consequences or our disobedience before the Lord. Yes, certain areas will come to revival, as we are seeing now in West Virginia, but this nation is teetering on collapse from its own corruption and greed. The government corruption is being exposed at an accelerated rate. The financial markets are volatile. Open rebellion is occurring in the streets. It is very well possible that this nation could crumble into several states or in the midst of this chaos, we may be given over to a foreign invader. But a nation that stands upon disobedience and corruption cannot stand long.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition

2 Thessalonians 2:3

I truly do pray that a great revival would come that would bring us all together, as it should be, as brothers in Christ. But I fear that even if this message was brought, it would fall upon deaf ears and hardened hearts. Those that preach hatred of their brothers and sisters because of the appearance of their mortal shells have been given over to an evil in their hearts. Division and discord, as I have said so many times, are the tools of the adversary and are not within God’s tool shed. When a nation turns from the Lord, He also turns from them, and lets them be given over to that old serpent to wreak havoc upon them, for it is only in turbulent times that a backslidden heart returns to the Lord.

I pray for this country. I pray for each of you that read this message, that it might not only be the will of the Lord that reaches you through this message, but that you open your heart and take from it what it is that He wills you to. I pray that you prepare. The summer of our discontent is only beginning.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14
